A Day at Kwagala Children's Orphanage

Sophiana FoundationAug 29, 20262 min readKwagala Children's Orphanage, Uganda

Recently, our team loaded up sacks of rice, maize flour, beans, sugar, cooking oil, and other essentials, and set out to spend the day at Kwagala Children's Orphanage.

The short film above captures a little of what the day felt like — unloading supplies under the shade of the trees, and the warmth of the children and caretakers who welcomed us.

Why these visits matter

For the children at Kwagala, a delivery like this is more than food on a shelf. It is the reassurance of a guaranteed meal, and the quiet, powerful message that someone remembered them.

Visits like this are only possible because of people like you. Every gift — large or small — becomes meals, school support, and moments of dignity for the children and elders we serve across Uganda.

This is only the beginning. We will keep showing up — and we would love for you to be part of the next visit.

Every sack of rice, every notebook, every visit says the same thing: you have not been forgotten.
